What comes into your mind when you hear Saving? At first it is difficult to be frugal at times when you had anything to spend. All your money goes to daily needs like food and clothing. Parents and older people surrounds you always says that at your early age you should save. Perhaps they like us to be responsible in handling money because they are the ones who are working hard to give us good life.

Saving, is setting aside a portion of our money we received in our resources, like in student out there, their parents and to working people like us, to the company we are working for. Being a student before in college, i was lucky when i got a scholarship. The organization that i belong gave me a semester stipend for Php 5,000. It is small compare to other but it is still helpful to me in buying my books. I studied in a state university so the tuition is below Php1,000 per semester. That time, still difficult for me to save because of the things you wanted to have. I realized that saving as early as young student is more promising to be wealthy in the future because the needs and wants are not that big comparing today you are working.
When i graduate and make my first money, i was so overwhelmed. That is the time where i buy all i want to have. I grew up in not that wealthy family so the wants were not always given to us. We can eat 3-4 times a day but the wants was not able to provide because of the idea that all the wants when we are young will be change at the time we grow up. I never knew i was then hunger to have all the wants that my fellow classmate had like gadgets and workmates had like traveling and buying clothes. I admit to myself that I become too materialistic. Frugality is not in my mind when i think those things. Thats why learning in
financial literacy was late for me (early to others maybe, hehehe).

Its not to late to us to Save at large and Spend in portions. Still don't deprive ourselves in getting what we want but also with responsible thinking if this will help us in the future. Sometimes all we want doesn't all we wanted after all. Now investing in intangible things like skills and talents can be helpful to us in the future. Teaching ourselves in new to our usually we do. While spending we also acquiring, like a 2-way system of life to give and receive in the process.

Frugality is wiser when we start it as early but its not late for the others. I advise to parents that teach our children to save for what they want so they can have it in their means. Reward system may be good but learning to have the idea of setting money to buy something is much indeed helpful in spending especially in reducing family expenditures.
Frugality comes in any stage of life starting in our young and student years until we get old. It never stops. It is changing in ways at least all times we have to.
