My Invesment Journey

Its been 10 years since i started opening an account in BPI. The first ever account i had is a savings account. That was in college (PUP Sta. Mesa in dome area) then when BPI agent went their to find applicants. We had a class that afternoon when they approach us with my college friends. I remembered we are small group composed of me and 2 new friends. Because i had a semester stipend i got in my a scholarship organization so i was thinking it is better way to start to save in my little money (actually wala talga akong extrang money para i-save nun. almost sapat lang palagi yung baon ko and then the stipend was i think small for 6 months of semester diba hahahaha). I complete the registration and we have to wait a while for our card with our name emboss to it. I was happy, i could start saving and i was really fascinated because i thought then na if you had a bank card like you feel you are rich.
Time goes by and the thoughts of having an account is also a responsibility. In the sense, i had to put money in the account or else it will be closed. If have money, i deposit it in a atm machine using their envelope system before. but every now and then, nawiwithdraw ko pa rin kasi kailangan ko ng gastusin sa fare for my rides and books for i am a student who needs it. Hindi ko na masyadong nalalagyan ng laman but the agent assures as even small amount is ok parin basta wag lang walang laman kahit 1oooPHp lang daw. I was happy to know that kasi maliit lang talga nalalagay ko sa account at madalas eh kinukuha ko din.
BPI is good to that kind of strategy i guess because it will retain the account holder since student pa nga ako nun and you can deposit in anywhere branch in your place without a charge. That's why i trust the company itself. as you read about BPI it is the longest bank still running for over 100 years you can just imagine that long is a century old. so pagdating sa staying power sa business eh wala akong masabi.
Until now the account that i opened ten years ago is still ok. Paminsan minsa nalalagyan na ng malalaking pera (working na eh hehehehe) and even nababawasan sa mga unexpected expenses. Now that i have money to save now more eh i am thinking na magtry magInvest naman while saving pa rin nmn. I visited the BPI website and notice a lot of investment option to choose from their different investment arm.
The first one i opened is my BPI UITF account which get money to my saving account. I am already two years na and I am good to that. The bank said that my invesment portfolio falls to be conservative so they recommended a BPI Premium Bonds. I said its ok with me. Every now and then i make sure that i put some amount to it for i know it will grow at a certain time.
After two years with BPI in investment, I want another different from trust fund which related in Mutual funds. Now i want to try stock market in their BPITrade. I dont have any idea about how it works or what company is the best for short-term investment (yung kasi gusto ko short term lng para magkapera agad ng malaki hehehehe mahirap din pala). Then that started my investment journey.
I try also to open in FirstMetroSec of metrobank because our company payroll account is in metrobank. it was easy to transfer money and to trade the stock market even in office.

So here to update you guys, (JULY 2016)
-- my saving is not quite good today because i have a lot of liabilities to pay pero may laman parin nmn yun BPI account ko
-- my BPItrade is in a not good -6% pero ok lang because i think the new administration will do something to the current economy more trust investing. same as my FirstMetroSec is also in -8%.

I promised to keep posted anything about my stock market journey. actually sobrang newbie pa rin ako pagdating sa terms in trading pero kakayanin natin. i started stock market last September 2015 and so far ok nmn even negative sya at start. Sabi nga mas maganda na simulan ng maaga kung long term namn ang goals mo.

Investing for the Future

Guys, have you think about your life will be in the next years. Counting years and whats next to you.
Being in my late mid-20s now, parang ang hirap what will be me as years go by. Ngayon po ay 27 na ko, at nag-iisip kung anu-ano ba ang pwede kong gawin by this time and Investing ang pinakamasasabi kong magandang gawin habang ako ay working in office.

Well, first I actually started my thinking about investing last 2years (2014). I was then second year counting to my work. Tapos kakagaling ko lang sa perks sa aming office (next blog ikukuwnto ko ehehehe). And then continuous na ang pagiisip kung anong investment pa ang gustong pasukan.
So lets start counting

1. Life Insurance/Mutual Funds-- started in 2014 and na-open ang idea ko about insurance sa aking kapatid. My sister had a plan in Sunlife of Canada Philippines. pero before akong magapply for a plan, i research about what is life insurance. Wikipedia.com said "Life insurance is a contract between an insurance policy holder and an insurer or assurer, where the insurer promises to pay a designated beneficiary a sum of money (the benefit) in exchange for a premium, upon the death of an insured person (often the policy holder). Depending on the contract, other events such as terminal illness or critical illness can also trigger payment. The policy holder typically pays a premium, either regularly or as one lump sum. Other expenses (such as funeral expenses) can also be included in the benefits." Maganda pala sya actually. sa dami kong naririnig about the insurance mas naintindihan ko na kailangan natin nito to provide our beneficiaries an insurance na at least if ever theres something happen, you can still provide for them. Mas maganda pa ngayon na nung nakausap ko yung advisor ng Sunlife na my plan that will be applying for ay makasamang investment. VUL (later tackle sa nxt blog). I had read about also the company which is Sunlife of Canada Philippines. The company itself is a very good financial institution na trusted worldwide and ang maganda dun ay top-listed and company sa Philippines ayon sa Insurance commission. (ang alam ko top parin sila up to now). So GRAB na ako at SIGN na din agad. Now , i paying my premiums and i am happy.

2. IUTF-- this one is good (2014). It is because most of UITF ay handled ng mga Banks ang funds na ito. It means Investment Units Trust Fund. you are buying a units of the company through their Mutual funds or Trust funds which is invested in different kind of stock market activity. Ang maganda dito you can start investing for 10,000 pesos. and you will know what kind of investor you are after you inquire to them. BPI Uitf holder ako kaya if much appreciated ko kung dun kayo kukuha. meron silang regular subscription plan where every month you can invest for only 1,000 pesos. Pero alam ko meron din ang ibang Bank ng UITF tulad ng Metrobank, BDO at Security Bank.Kayo na lang mamili kung saan kayo mas malapit na branch na available ito.

3. Stock Market-- started 2015 at hanggng ngayon ay i am still studying this kind of investment. masasabi kong napakacomplex nito kay matinding pag-aaral ang ggawin ko. but today after i open an account sa BPITrade and FirstMetroSec, everything is fine regarding their site kasi naman user friendly at may mga insights din sila kung anong maganda bilhin na stocks sa market for the week.
well ano ba ang stock market, so stock market is a place where companies and investors(like us) to buy and sell stocks o shares ng company. parang isang lugar na pwede kang bumili at magbenta. but more on papers and based on prices available.

So this are my investment now. more on financial investment but i will try other investment like skills and more on technical/training invesment para naman sa knowledge side naman.
Hoping na magkaroon kayo kahit isa man lang sa investment na ito aside sa savings account sa bangko.
